Your wedding day will be the happiest day of your life – so it makes sense to spend your honeymoon in the happiest place on earth! Disney World honeymoons are becoming increasingly popular with young (and young at heart) couples who want a bit of fun, adventure and to let their hair down before the world of adulting is thrust upon them once again. Yuck.

Choosing the right hotel

If you haven’t been to Disney World Florida before, you’re in for a real treat – trust us! When it comes to booking your honeymoon hotel, you probably want something special to make your trip even more memorable. However, there are so many options to choose from it can be pretty overwhelming. In short, it all comes down to what you want from your hotel room. Do you want something adventurous? Sleep, eat and repeat in the Serengeti (without the ridiculously long flight) at the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge. Do you want a quieter, more relaxed honeymoon when you’re not living it large in the Disney parks? Then the riverside location of the Disney Port Orleans Resort will be perfect for you.

Or do you want something chic and sophisticated? Then the Disney Yacht and Beach Club Resort will be right up your street, and it’s just a small boat ride away from the rest of the world at Epcot. But what if we told you you could stay in all of those places? When you create a honeymoon gift list with flyustothemoon.com, you can ask your wedding guests to kindly donate money to stay in one of these rooms for each night of your epic honeymoon!

Daily activities

Of course, we all know Disney World is awesome, but many people forget how many parks there are in Florida – which means there won’t be a single day without fun and laughter! In terms of theme parks, there’s the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There are also two amazing water parks – Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. If you want to see everything the happiest place in the world can offer, you can purchase either a 7-day, 14-day or 21-day ultimate ticket from the Disney World official website, so you don’t have to bother with separate park tickets.

Epcot Disney World.

Our advice? Divide the price of the full park ticket up in smaller segments and ask weddings guests to contribute to your honeymoon of fun. (Psssst, the longer you go, the cheaper the tickets get – so use that as an excuse to go for two weeks rather than one!)

Where to eat and drink

There are literally hundreds (and we mean hundreds!) of restaurants, bars, cafes and buffets at Disney World. Nevertheless, it’s your honeymoon, so you need AT LEAST one night where you dine like King and Queen. At the Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom you really can feel like the Belle of the ball as you dine in the Enchanted Castle, under the incredible painted ceiling – and of course, you have to try the grey stuff… it’s delicious!

If you’re looking for something more intimate and sophisticated, the Victoria & Albert’s Dinner Queen Victoria Room is the epitome of class and offers private dining as you sample their specially selected 10-course menu.

Making it special

You’re only going to have one honeymoon, so you need to make it truly magical. Alongside the amazing parks and the fun days out, Disney World also offers romantic extras that will make your stay even more incredible. The fireworks around the world at Epcot are a definite must-see, but can often get overcrowded and busy. Instead, you could watch the fireworks with your newly betrothed on a private yacht with a glass of champagne in hand! No honeymoon would be complete without a relaxing couples massage either, so take a break from all of the fun and spend some quality time together. And don’t forget, there’s more to Florida than just Disney World, so why not take a trip to the Everglades and keep your eyes peeled for Alligators? Simply work out what you want to do, add it to your gift list and wait for your family and friends to surprise you!
