Ahhhhh, a summer wedding. Is there anything better than getting married to the love of your life while you bask in the heat of the English Summer? Answer: Nope. The best thing about a summer wedding is that you can continue the festivities for a couple of weeks after the big day, as you can go on your honeymoon straight after your wedding day to catch the last of the summer sun.

Thankfully, the August sun abroad is a lot more reliable than the August sun in the UK – so we can (hopefully) guarantee that you won’t be rained on.

Fiji

When it comes to choosing your honeymoon location, you’ll probably want to find somewhere a bit more exotic than your average trip to Spain (no offense, Spain). There isn’t anywhere more exotic than Fiji in the South Pacific. The archipelago of Fiji is made up of a whopping 300 islands that are all as beautiful as each other. For the sake of a luxurious honeymoon, we’d suggest taking up residence on the island of Mamanuca or Yasawa.

Why not Whale watch on Taveuni Island in Fiji.

You can stay in one of their amazing sea lodges, swim or snorkel in the aquamarine sea, take a relaxing boat trip around the islands, check out the historic temples or just sit on the beach with your new husband or wife and simply take in the breathtaking view. Although, you may want to take shelter under a palm tree in the middle of the day as temperatures soar to around 28-30 degrees Celsius in August!

Queensland

For most people, a trip to Australia is on the dream bucket list. So why not tick off a bucket list destination for your honeymoon and make it a holiday to remember? One of the most extraordinary places to visit in Australia is Northern Queensland. This area is a haven for golden sandy beaches, incredible National Parks and rainforests, and the piece de resistance; the Great Barrier Reef.

Queensland is becoming increasingly popular for newlywed couples wanting to explore new territories and experience once in a lifetime activities. If you want to make your honeymoon truly special, you just have to snorkel around the Great Barrier Reef. Why not add it to your flyustothemoon.com honeymoon registry and ask one of your wedding guests to contribute?

Kenya

There are some couples who don’t want to spend their honeymoon sat on a beach, doing nothing. Instead, they want to do something completely different and unique. The best place to see different and unique? Kenya.

Gilgil, Kenya.

This African gem is at the heart of African safari, which many choose as their honeymoon activity. You can stay in a safari tent in the middle of the Masai Mara National Reserve. You can wake up to the sounds of birds and giraffes rustling in the trees next to you, you can treat your taste buds to an Ostrich steak for dinner, and you can (of course) go on numerous safari rides through some of the most ecologically diverse terrains in the world. Luckily, the temperature in Kenya is a little cooler in August. You can still expect a warm 20 to 28 degrees Celsius for your epic trip.

Grenadines

If you’re looking for heat, relaxation and beautiful views of the ocean, the Grenadines are the perfect choice for your August honeymoon. The Grenadines is made up of 32 breathtaking Caribbean islands that boast crystal clear waters, mile-long beaches, incredible coastline and quaint fishing villages.

No trip to the Grenadines would be complete without a trip to the Tobago Cays Marine Park. Tobago Cays offers amazing views of the smaller islands, the colorful coral reef, marine wildlife and the amazing boats that park off the coast. Don your flippers and snorkel alongside the beautiful sea turtles and stingrays, and finish off your day with a tasty meal as paid for by one of your guests on your flyustothemoon.com registry.

There are so many places to go for an August honeymoon, the only problem you’ll have is deciding which destination to choose…
