December is already one of the most exciting months of the year – because who doesn’t love Christmas?! However, more and more newlywed couples are choosing to make December even more exciting by booking their honeymoon.

Luckily, there are so many amazing destinations to choose from. Whether you want heat, whether you want adventure, whether you want a bit of culture, or whether you want a bite of the city life, there really is something for everybody. So where do you go for a honeymoon in December?

Honeymoon in Canada

For many, Canada is the dream destination – especially for a honeymoon. Canada is so large and so diverse that you could have five completely different holidays in one trip. You can explore the city life, you can walk the nature trails, you can take in the beautiful coast and fishing villages, and you can even take a trip to the snow and ice of Yukon Territory (which will be extra cold at this time of year). However, our favorite honeymoon destination in Canada is Vancouver Island.

Vancouver, Canada

This island is full to the brim with character and charm and is known as one of the most romantic destinations in the world. With the beautiful gardens and neo-Baroque buildings, the city of Vancouver is a definite must-see. Just outside of the city, you have numerous National Parks, which feature hikes and trails to explore with your new husband or wife. Although it’s not freezing, you will need a thick coat, as temperatures rarely exceed 12 degrees Celsius. The perfect Christmas destination.

Honeymoon in Bangkok

If you’re looking for a bit of heat, the average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius in Bangkok could be a definite winner. Bangkok is one of the most culturally astounding destinations in the world and offers honeymooners so many options in terms of activities and attractions. You can check out the grand palaces and temples, the skyscraper sculptures, the amazing floating markets, and the beaches all in one day.

Bangkok welcomes more visitors than any other city in the world.

Of course, Bangkok is also famous for its food. Why not cap off your day of sightseeing with a traditional Thai meal? Find a fancy restaurant, add it to your registry and let your wedding guests contribute to your honeymoon!

Honeymoon in Sydney

As Australia is on the opposite side of the world, our winter is their summer – which means Sydney is the perfect place to visit if you want a bit of winter sun. With an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, it’s the perfect temperature to relax and unwind, while exploring what this New South Wales city has to offer. No trip to Sydney would be complete without wandering the streets and stumbling across the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Sydney harbour by the moonlight

However, it’s your honeymoon, so you need some time to relax. So head on down to Bondi Beach to lay on the glorious sands, take a dip in the water, watch the surfers ride the waves – and even have a go yourself if you want! Just add a couples lesson to your registry.

Honeymoon in Goa

Why would you not want to go-a to Goa? Many people have Goa on their bucket list, and December is one of the best months to visit. As a primarily Christian country, Christmas is a big deal in Goa. During the month of December, the churches and streets are covered in extravagant decorations, and the people of Goa can be found on the streets, selling handcrafted goods and homemade chocolates and sweets. It is full of festive cheer!

Why not spend Christmas on Goa’s beach with cocktail

Alongside the month-long celebration, Goa in December can also offer an average of 27 degrees Celsius, which can be spent on their beautiful beaches, swimming in their lagoons, or just roaming the island.

Many people are put off by a December honeymoon, but we think it adds a festive cheer to one of the most important and special trips of your life – so why not mix Christmas and your honeymoon together? We would.
